Project details
In Hua Hin, community life centres on schools, temples and shared spaces that often need ongoing care.
Families do their best, but without outside help it gets hard to keep these places safe and welcoming.
The project was set up to turn small jobs into bigger results: a wall repainted, a classroom done up, a piece of furniture mended. Each task makes daily life better for the people who use these spaces, and becomes a chance to work together.
Taking part means a tangible experience, where the biggest reward is seeing the change in front of you, shared with the local community.

Every volunteer is asked to provide a criminal record check (DBS or equivalent) before travelling. We'll walk you through the steps: an important step that gives peace of mind to you, the other participants and the community hosting us.
🔹 Solid safety standards
• Building activities always supervised by experienced coordinators
• Clear instructions and safe tools for everyone
• Accommodation with lockable rooms and personal lockers
• Safe residential areas, close to shops and medical centres
🔹 24/7 support
The local team is always on hand, evenings and weekends included, for any question or hiccup. And if you need us, our UK team is reachable on WhatsApp anytime 📲
🔹 Briefing and orientation
On your first day you'll get a full briefing: site safety, good practice for working as a group and cultural pointers for interacting respectfully with the local community.
🔹 A few sensible habits
✔ Wear suitable shoes and clothing during the work.
✔ Use only the tools the coordinators have shown you.
✔ Avoid going out on your own at night or in isolated areas.
✔ Always follow the local team's advice.
💡 Our aim
A safe, welcoming and engaging setting, so you can focus on what really matters: working together, growing and getting to know everyday life in Thailand 🇹🇭

🧭 Orientation day
In Hua Hin we kick off with a day all about you: the aim is to help you settle in, see how local life works and feel part of the group from day one.
On Monday, with the local team, you'll get a relaxed but thorough introduction to your new world:
• Welcome meeting and programme introduction
• Practical advice on health, safety and good practice for outdoor work
• A look at Thai culture, with stories and basic words in Thai
• A lesson on local customs: what to do, what to avoid and how to get around respectfully
• Guided tour of the area with useful stops (supermarkets, transport, medical centres, key landmarks)
• Pointers on getting a local SIM, or the option to arrive with an eSIM already active through Airalo
Beyond the practical info, it's also a great moment to meet the other volunteers, share what brought you here and start feeling part of the community 💛
📌 From Tuesday it's on!
From Tuesday, you'll start the building and renovation work, side by side with the local community.

✈️ Arrival tips
For an easy start, we recommend booking a flight that arrives at Bangkok – Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on Sunday, ideally between 06:00 and 16:00. Within these hours the welcome service and transfer to Hua Hin are available.
If you arrive on a Saturday, you'll need to book an extra night at our accommodation (small supplement applies).
If you arrive after 16:00, we can still arrange the transfer (small extra applies), or you can make your own way.
If your flight lands at Don Mueang Airport (DMK), you'll need to make your own way to Suvarnabhumi (BKK), since pickups only run from there.
Please send us your flight details as soon as you book, so we can arrange your bus ticket and arrival.
📍 Meeting point
The meeting point is at Level 2, Gate 3 at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). A member of our staff will be waiting with a sign. 👉 If you cannot spot them straight away, stay there: the team will reach you. Do not move on your own.
🧳 Luggage
The included bus ticket allows up to 20 kg. If you have extra luggage, you may pay a small fee (refundable up to 50 kg by showing the receipt to the local staff).
🕑 Travel time to Hua Hin
The trip from the airport to Hua Hin takes around 4–5 hours (bus plus local transfer). You may share the journey with other participants arriving around the same time.
🚖 Departure tips
Check-out from the accommodation is by 12:00 on Saturday. The return transfer to the airport is not included, since participants leave at very different times. That said, our staff will happily help you book a taxi or a bus, also shared with other travellers.
We would suggest booking your return flight for Saturday evening or Sunday morning, so you can leave the accommodation at your own pace and get to the airport without rushing. If you're planning to carry on travelling in Thailand (Bangkok, the islands or other cities), let us know in advance: our team will give you practical tips to sort the transfers.
💡 After confirmation
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an updated email with all the practical info and emergency contacts.
